The Occupational Employment and Wage
Statistics (OEWS) survey is a Federal/State establishment survey of
wage and salary workers designed to produce data on current
detailed occupational employment and wages for each Metropolitan
Statistical Area and Metropolitan Division as well as by detailed
industry classification. OEWS survey data assists in the
development of employment and training programs established by the
Perkins Vocational Education Act of 1998 and the Workforce
Investment Act of 1998. Respondents include private establishment,
schools, hospitals, State and Local Government.

Annual respondent burden for
the OEWS survey will increase with the November 2023 panel and May
2024 panels for an expansion of testing the reporting of additional
data elements. This test was included with the last full clearance
request which OMB approved on June 5, 2023. Previously, testing was
conducted in Michigan. The current estimate includes additional
burden hours to conduct the test in both Michigan and
Connecticut.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
