Section 29 CFR part 1926, subpart U
and its collections of information provide protection to employees
who work with and around blasting operations. In addition,
inventories of explosives must be maintained to assure employer and
blaster accountability for explosives.

The agency is requesting an
adjustment decrease in the burden hours from 1,602 to 1,426 hours,
a difference of 176 hours. This decrease is due to a decrease in
the number of affected sites affected by the current economic
conditions. (The available data for this ICR was derived from 2022
and 2023 fiscal year.)
