Abstract: myE-Verify (previously E-Verify Self Check) allows workers in the United States to enter data into the E-Verify system to ensure that the information relating to their eligibility to work is correct and accurate. This is necessary so that workers in the United States can correct their records before a hiring decision is made. This will lead to a more reliable and accurate E-Verify system that works better for both employers and employees.

Short Statement: There is an estimated 110 difference to the annual public time burden for this information collection. The 45,153 value represents an early rounding in multi-step calculations and the 45,043 value represents a higher degree of mathematical precision. The difference between these estimates is not a result of any program change that would affect the time burden estimation. There is no program change to the public time burden for this information collection. Additionally, the agency used its discretion to combine three information collections (myE-Verify Self-Checks: Identity Authentication, Self Check Query, and Further Action Pursued) into one information collection (my-E-Verify SelfCheck) and calculated a a new weighted average effectively reducing the number of information collection in this ICR from 4 to 2. The average burden per response associated with the myE-Verify information collection is the weighted average of the three composite myE-Verify activities’ time burden estimate: ID Authentication Check (0.083x250,000)+Self Check Query (0.083x75,000)+Further Action Pursued (1.183x10,000)/335,000 (total respondent number = 0.1158 myE-Verify average burden per response(in hours). This new average burden per response did effect the total annual burden calculation. The -110 program change is due to the agency's discretion to update the Average Hourly Wage Rate from $29.76 to $33.54, from the May 2022 Bureau of Labor Statistics average wage for All Occupations to the updated May 2025 average wage.
