Capital Adequacy Standards

The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) is requesting a three-year extension, with revision, of the Capital Adequacy Standards information collection (OMB No. 1557-0318). This collection is comprised of the reporting, recordkeeping, and disclosure requirements associated with minimum capital requirements and overall capital adequacy standards for national banks and Federal savings associations. The data is used by the OCC to evaluate the capital of national banks and Federal savings associations in accordance with the capital adequacy standards. The OCC uses the information collected to meet its statutory obligations to adopt and implement a risk-based capital requirement, determine the qualification of a national bank or Federal savings association for application of the rule, and assess the adequacy of a qualifying institution’s risk-based capital.
