Annual Report for Gas Distribution Operators

OMB 2137-0629

OMB 2137-0629

This information collection request would require operators of gas distribution pipeline systems to submit annual report data to the Office of Pipeline Safety in accordance with the regulations stipulated in 49 CFR Part 191 by way of form PHMSA F 7100.1-1. The form is to be submitted once for each calendar year. The annual report form collects data about the pipe material, size, and age. The form also collects data on leaks from these systems as well as excavation damages. PHMSA uses the information to track the extent of gas distribution systems and normalize incident and leak rates. The requested revision would revise form PHMSA F 7100.1-1 and it's instructions to remove “Other” as a selection for Operator Type in Part A7 and add guidance for the proper selection to the instructions. The revision will also change the instructions related to how the percent of LAUF gas is calculated. PHMSA will calculate the percent of LAUF gas by dividing the LAUF volume by the gas consumption volume. PHMSA will allow a negative value to be reported for percent LAUF gas. These changes will harmonize the PHMSA and Energy Information Administration (EIA) methodologies for calculating percent LAUF gas.

The latest form for Annual Report for Gas Distribution Operators expires 2021-10-31 and can be found here.
