Abstract: THIS FORM IS REQUIRED FOR AN INDIVIDUAL OR ORGANIZATION TO REQUEST CUSTODY OF A WILD FREE-ROAMING HORSE OR BURRO UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF THE 1971 WILD HORSE AND BURRO ACT (P.L. 92-195) AS AMENDED. A COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT IS ACCEPTED AND SIGNED BY EACH QUALIFIED APPLICANT OF FORM 42-R1749 UPON THE RECEIPT OF AN OLD HORSE OR BURRO FOR PRIVATE MAINTENANCE UNDER THE TERMS OF THE AGREEMENT.
