Abstract: WHILE WINE IS "IN BOND," THE FEDERAL EXCISE TAX ATTACHED TO THE WINE HAS NOT YET BEEN PAID. ATF REQUIRES THAT WINERIES USE THIS FORM WHEN WINE IS TRANSFERRED FROM ONE WINERY TO ANOTHER SO AS TO ESTABLISHED THE LIABILITY FOR THE WINE EXCISE TAX AT THE TIME OF WINE TRANSFERS. ATF NEEDS THIS FORM TO PROTECT THE COLLECTION OF FEDERAL EXCISE TAXES.
