Abstract: P.L. 92-195, AS AMENDED (SEE ATTACHMENT), REQUIRES THAT HEALTHY EXCESS WILD HORSES AND BURROS BE MADE AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION TO INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE WILLING AND ABLE TO PROVIDE HUMANE CARE AND TREATMENT, INCLUDING TRANSPORTATION, FEED AND HANDLING. THE APPLICATION PROVIDES THE MEANS FOR INDIVIDUALS TO EXPRESS AN INTEREST IN ADOPTING AN ANIMAL AND STATING THEIR QUALFICATIONS FOR ADOPTION.
