Abstract: The Department of Education's Safe and Drug-Free Schools Program supports efforts to prevent the illegal use of drugs and violence among, and promote safe and discipline for, students at all educational levels. In order to promote effective strategies to prevent youth drug use and violence, the Department encourages replication of research-based programs of demonstrated effectiveness and collection of data about youth drug use and violent behavior.
