Per 5/11 e-mail,
BTS will commence renwed household monthly surveys in July. OMB
would like to review this and additional surveys for the period
July-October. BTS wil also update us periodically on effectiveness
of steps taken to deal with problems of nonresponse -- see also TOC
for NPTS/ATS discussed in 4/18/2001 e-mail (this docket). OMB and
BTS understand that more design work will be done before fielding
any establishment and targeted surveys. Fielding of these surveys
will require additional justification though DOT will not be
required to solicit additional public comment. We are particularly
interested in the input received from consultations within and
outsie DOT in the further design of these surveys as described in
the 5/11/01 e-mail (this docket).
