OMB is
disappointed that OSHA did not meet the previous terms of clearance
for this collection. The previous terms continue to apply. This
collection is approved for eighteen months to give OSHA time to
promulgate Phase II of the Standards Improvement Project. OSHA
plans to publish the NPRM for phase II in Sept. 2002. Approval is
consistent with OSHA's agreement to examine alternatives to
requiring worker social security numbers in recording exposure
monitoring results. In addition, OSHA will revisit the burden
estimate for the provision governing information provided to the
physician, consistent with OMB's e-mail to DOL on 3/28/02.
