Motor carriers are required to maintain a driver qualification file for each commercial motor vehicle (CMV) driver to document that the driver meets the qualification standards to drive a CMV in interstate commerce. An SNPRM "Safety Performance History of New Drivers" proposes changes to this information collection. The proposals in the SNPRM add a section to the Supporting Statement to address the burden proposed to previous employers and revise other sections.
