The "American Stars of Teaching" nomination survey will provide data to the Department of Education about teachers--from all grade levels and disciplines--who are improving student achievement regardless of the challenges faced. Teachers selected as an "American Star in Teaching" will be honored in the summer and early fall of 2004 by the Department of Education. The desig ndesignation is designed to encourage teachers and honor the teaching profession. Teachers are the key to fulfilling the goals of the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB). "American Starts of Teaching" is part of the Secretary's Teacher-to-Teacher........
