The QFR is the best source of timely
financial data for gauging quarterly performance of the
non-regulated, domestic corporate sector. Users include: Commerce
Department (Gross Domestic Product), Federal Reserve Board (Flow of
Funds), and the Council of Economic Advisers. The data are
collected from a sample of manufacturing, mining, and trade
corporations.
We have decreased the number of
$50 million to $1 billion dollar and over asset-size companies
required to file QFR-200(MT) long form. We have also eliminated the
QFR-103(NB) classification form. Partially offsetting this
reduction, we have adjusted upward the sample size for the less
than $50 million asset size companies filing QFR-201(MG) short
form.
