Individuals who request personal
information from SSA records are asked to provide certain
identifying information to verify their identity. As an extra
measure of protection, SSA asks requestors who use the Internet and
Telephone services to provide additional identifying information
unique to those services so that SSA can authenticate their
identities before releasing personal information. The respondents
are current benficiaries who are requesting personal information
from SSA.
We are expanding our Automated
Telephone Services to include the option to request a replacement
SSA-1099/1042S. Just as with all of our Automated Telephone
Services approved under 0960-0596, we are authenticating only the
respondent's name, date of birth and Social Security Number (see
the call flow mock-up located in the Supplementary Documents
section); therefore, there is no change to our program. We estimate
this new option will increase the number of respondents by
841,420.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
