Data validation requires states and
grantees to ascertain the validity of report and participant record
data submitted to the Employment and Training Administration and to
submit reports to the Agency on data accuracy. The following
programs are subject to the validation requirement: Workforce
Investment Act Title IB, Labor Exchange, Trade Adjustment
Assistance, Migrant and Seasonal Farmworkers, Native American
Employment and Training, and Senior Community service Employment
Program (SCSC). The SCSC data validation handbook is still in
construction and will be available to users by December 2007,
before implementation is required.
The increase in burden hours
results from the new inclusion of Indian and Native Americans and
Senior Community Service Employment Program grantees into the Data
Validation Program. The reduction in hours captured as an
adjustment results from the re-estimation of time for previously
included programs by removing the level-of-effort associated with
start-up burden. The previously reported cost burden has been
eliminated because it duplicated costs captured in the form of
burden hours.
