This research will provide copy testing of anti-drug messages for use in NYADMC. Results will be used to select ads and messages for the campaign. Testing will focus on primary (14-16) and secondary (11-13) youth audiences and their parents.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, the National Youth Anti-Drug Media Campaign was unable to meet the CFR requirements for 60-day and 30-day notices for a regular renewal of existing data collection instruments. These data collection instruments – qualitative testing of creative advertising concepts (OMB 3201-0011), quantitative testing of near-final advertising before airing (OMB 3201-0006), and a tracking study to measure advertising effectiveness (OMB 3201-0010) – are critical to the continuity of the Nation’s anti-drug media campaign and are a key contributor to the downturn in teen drug abuse. As such, an emergency renewal is being submitted for a 6-month extension of the data collection instruments. During this extension period, a 60-day notice and 30-day notice will be filed in the Federal Register allowing more time for public comment on the information collection instruments preceding the submission of a regular renewal.
