These information collection
requirements are minimal and are used to ensure that motor carriers
have adequate documentation of the systematic inspection, repair
and maintenance programs required by 49 CFR part 393. This revision
is due to a Final Rule entitled, "Requirements for Intermodal
Equipment Providers and Motor Carriers and Drivers Operating
Intermodal Equipment."
The program change increase of
121,250 annual burden hours is due to the regulatory requirements
set forth in the final rule on intermodal equipment roadibility
that will increase the annual burden hours from 59,093,244 to
59,214,494.
