The purpose of this collection is to conduct a survey to gather the necessary information for use by both the Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management to report to Congress annually on the role of local communities in the development of agreement or contract plans through stewardship contracting.

The actual number of stewardship contracts has generally been increasing each year (except for the BLM which decreased from 113 in 2008 to 67 in 2009). Thus, the estimate has been revised from 550 to no more than 560 stewardship contracting projects in a given year increasing burden by 126 hours.
