In 2007, in order to assess its efforts to provide supervisory support, technical assistance, education, and outreach to its Minority Owned National Banks (MONBs), the OCC requested feedback on the effectiveness of its efforts at that time and suggestions for enhancing its supervisory efforts and assistance going forward. The OCC used the information it obtained to assess both the needs of the MONBs and the OCC's current efforts to meet those needs, and to focus and enhance its MONB supervisory, technical assistance, education, and outreach.
The OCC conducted a follow up survey in 2009 and compared its 2007 baseline data to measure agency performance in the area of MONB support.
