Abstract: The Fulbright-Hays Doctoral Dissertation Research Abroad and Faculty Research Abroad Programs are designed to contribute to the development and improvement of modern foreign language and area studies in the United States by providing opportunities for scholars to conduct research abroad. These applications require OMB clearance in order to continue the annual competition and funding of awards. The Fulbright-Hays programs have been in existence since 1961.
