This ICR covers five aspects of EPA's
certification program for passenger cars, light-duty trucks, and
highway motorcycles: 1) car and light truck fuel economy, 2)
motorcycle certification, 3) the manufacturers' in-use testing
program for cars and light trucks, 4) car and light truck emissions
certification, and 5) defect and voluntary emission recall reports
for cars, light trucks, and motorcycles. This renewal ICR reflects
several changes approved in subsequent ICRs as well as other
current testing burden data and adjustments.
This change worksheet is being
submitted to transfer burden from 2060-0644, Certification and
In-Use Testing of Motor Vehicles: Revisions to Reduce Emissions of
Greenhouse Gases (Final Rule) (EPA ICR Number ICR No. 2387.01). The
ICR for the proposed rule was approved under this series
(2060-0104); however, when the ICR for the final rule was being
submitted there was another package pending, which prevented us
from submitting the ICR for the final rule. The ICR for the final
rule was instead submitted to OMB under 2060-0644. Once this change
worksheet is approved, 2060-0644 will be discontinued.
