The information collection
requirements contained in the Standard on Material Hoists,
Personnel Hoists, and Elevators (29 CFR 1926.552), are designed to
protect workers who operate and work around personnel
hoists.

The Agency is requesting a
decrease in burden hours from 30,282 to 20,957 (a total decrease of
9,325 burden hours). This decrease is a result of a drop in the
number of construction worksites from 2.43 million to 725,199. This
ICR does not entail a change due to a PRA violation; the OSHA
requested and received emergency extensions for this
collection.
