Voluntary customer satisfaction surveys will be used to contact users of NRC services and products to determine their needs, and how the Commission can improve its services and products to better meet those needs. In addition, focus groups will be contacted to discuss questions concerning those services and products. Results from the surveys will give insight into how NRC can make its services and products cost effective, efficient, and responsive to its customer needs. Each survey will be submitted to OMB for its review. NOTE: This clearance, OMB 3150-0197, is intended to be generic. However, the NRC inadvertantly did not mark the clearance as generic during the last renewal. For this reason, the current customer satisfaction survey is being submitted as a nonsubstantive change request rather than a new IC to generic ICR request. The current request is a customer satisfaction survey to assess satisfaction with the National Source Tracking System (NSTS). The NSTS is a web-based database designed to track the life cycle of Category 1 and 2 radioactive sources regulated by the NRC and Agreement States. The responses will provide feedback for future system enhancements. The survey will be conducted online, in addition to being emailed to all licensees in the NSTS contacts with email addresses and Agreement State NSTS contacts with email addresses and will measure user and non-user satisfaction and perception of NSTS. The results will be benchmarked to demonstrate progress toward NSTS goals and to identify areas that can be used to demonstrate key NSTS benefits in outreach efforts.
