The Customer Complaint Form was developed as a courtesy for those who contact the OCC's Customer Assistance Group and wish to file a formal, written complaint. On July 21, 2010, President Barack Obama signed into law the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, P.L. 111-203, 124 Stat. 1376 (2010) (Dodd-Frank Act). Pursuant to the Dodd-Frank Act, the Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection was granted authority to, among other things, supervise large banks and Federal savings associations with more than $10 billion in assets for compliance with certain consumer protection laws. Its authority includes the handling of consumer complaints related to those large financial companies. Therefore, this collection has been revised to reflect the transfer of authority.
