NHTSA proposes to survey drivers ages
16 through 20 in 8 States. The survey will explore the frequency
and context of unsafe driver behaviors among this age group, types
of risky situations that people of young driver age experience as
vehicle passengers, parental influence on young drivers, driver
training and education, and young driver attitudes and perceptions
concerning selected traffic safety issues.

data systems could not adequately meet the agency's information
needs related to strategic planning and development of behavioral

a new information collection effort designed to address those needs
