The information collected on this form
is used by lawful permanent residents seeking to become naturalized
citizens of the United States. The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration
Services (USCIS) uses this form to determine an applicant's
eligibility for naturalization.
The increase in cost burden
reflects USCIS reporting the estimated cost to the respondents to
comply with all of the activities related to the Form N-400 as well
as to obtain necessary assistance for the preparation and
submission of the form.
