The information collected on this form
will be used to determine eligibility for benefits sought for
relatives of United States citizens and lawful permanent residents.
USCIS requests approval of this change request to correct the list
of persons who do not need to submit a separate petition. The list
inadvertently did not include the persons identified in C of item 2
under the section titled "Who may file form I-130" in the
instructions. These persons were never required to submit a
separate petition and this change request will correct
this.
US Code:
8 USC
1154 Name of Law: United States Code
Form I-130A is a new form that
replaces the need for a beneficiary spouse to complete Form G-325A.
The increase in the Form I-130 burden is due to the addition of two
data elements from the Form G-325A formerly required of the
petitioner but now no longer necessary. The increase is also due to
the addition of signature language added to the end of the form.
The form’s length has increased, but most of this is due to
formatting changes and does not add to the time burden.
