Abstract: Sec. 911 of the Energy Policy Act of 2005 instructs DOE to conduct programs to improve energy efficiency in buildings; and sec. 106 authorizes DOE to enter into voluntary agreements with U.S. industry. Data will be collected annually from program participants on progress made towards the reduction of energy intensity goals established by voluntary agreements. The data collected will be used to evaluate the success of the voluntary agreements and to report results to congress, as required by law. .

Short Statement: The decrease is largely due to (1) No longer requiring completion of the Better Buildings Challenge Organization-wide Plan, which resulted in a burden reduction of 50 hours; (2) Reduced reporting frequency for Better Buildings Challenge Showcase Project Form from four reports to one report filed per year, (3) Reduced reporting frequency for Better Buildings Challenge Implementation Model from four reports to one report filed per year; (4)Adjusted the Better Buildings Alliance Annual Data Collection Form to reduce the estimated time to complete the form from four hours to one hour per participant, and reduced the estimated number of completed instruments
