Abstract: This information is used to ensure that owners assess energy needs in an effort to reduce project operating costs and utility expenses through cost-effective energy conservation and efficiency measures. HUD used the information in monitoring the Department’s energy strategy and for inclusion in the Department’s biannual reporting requirements to Congress as required by Section 154 of the Energy Policy Act of 2005.

Short Statement: This is an extension of a currently approved collection. The change in inventory in item 13 of page 1 reflects project owners that paid or prepaid their mortgage and no longer have a requirement to submit energy usage estimates to the Department, and newly insured projects that have been added to the portfolio since last report.
