MITIGATION OF BEYOND-DESIGN-BASIS
EVENTS FINAL RULE The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is
amending its regulations that establish regulatory requirements for
nuclear power reactor applicants and licensees to mitigate
beyond-design-basis events. Applicants under Part 52 must include
in their applications plans for implementing the requirements of
the new section 10 CFR 50.155 Mitigation of beyond-design-basis
events, including a schedule for achieving full compliance with
these requirements, however, no applications are anticipated during
the clearance period, therefore the burden for Part 52 information
collections remains unchanged at this time.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
