To control the spread of chronic
wasting disease (CWD) in the United States, APHIS created a
cooperative, voluntary Federal-State-private sector CWD Herd
Certification Program designed to identify farmed or captive herds
infected with CWD and provide for the management of these herds in
a way that will reduce the risk of spreading disease.

This request for renewal
reports decreases of 45,269 estimated responses and 24,617
estimated burden hours. Most of the changes (45,484 responses and
26,552 hours) are estimate adjustments. The discretionary changes
consists of 11 new activities adding 215 estimated responses and
1,916 hours of burden, and the discontinuing of one activity due to
inactivity (1 response, 1 hour)..
