General Land Office Website User Feedback Survey

Purpose

The General Land Office (GLO) team is conducting a Case Study Analysis to help determine the next steps towards updating the
glorecords.blm.gov website. To help with this study, the GLO team plans to survey GLO website users to gauge their satisfaction with
the current website, and allow respondents to provide voluntary feedback on potential enhancements. These responses will be
evaluated to assist the GLO team with identifying possible future requirements for the GLO website.

Description of Respondents

This survey will be sent via email to internal BLM General Land Office Website users.
This survey will also be published on the homepage of the glorecords.blm.gov website, so anybody who chooses to visit the GLO
website will be able to participate in the survey if they so desire. BLM Eastern States will also post a link to the survey on Twitter and
Facebook. Participation in this anonymous survey is voluntary for all parties involved.

, based on: (provide details below)

If we receive 300 submissions, it would take 1 hour to filter and sort all of the results in one Excel sheet, and 2 hours to analyze and
document the findings with the Case Study Analysis team. A GS-11 step 1 will filter and sort the results ($34.97). The Case Study
Analysis team consists of 3 members, making the burden of analyzing and documenting the findings roughly $315. Please note,
however, that this custom form is a tool meant to accept submissions in a standard format rather than through the freeform
submissions that would otherwise come in by personal email. Thus the existence of this form actually saves the government money
by standardizing submissions and decreasing the workload of processing each one. Additionally, the Federal costs estimated here
may be somewhat inflated as the estimate is based on a maximum total of 300 responses. This was done in order to remain

If you are conducting a focus group, survey, or plan to employ statistical methods, please provide answers to the
following questions:
Selection of Targeted Respondents
1. Do you have a customer list (or something similar) that defines the universe of potential respondents and do you have a
sampling plan for selecting from this universe?

Yes If “Yes,” please provide a description of both below (or attach the sampling plan). If the answer is no, please
provide a description of how you plan to identify your potential group of respondents and how you will select them.

Participants will self-select by choosing to follow the link to submit a response. This is really no
different than any website’s “Contact Us” type of link; this submission form is only used by
those who want to contribute to the survey. The “Submit Survey” link will be located at the top of
the glorecords.blm.gov homepage. We will email internal BLM GLO website users. This will not be a
sample, as it will be the entire "universe" of internal BLM GLO users.
Sample Response to Question 1 Above:
“Participants will self-select by choosing to follow the link to submit a resource. This is really no different than any website’s “Contact
Us” type of link; this submission form is only used by those who want to contribute to the toolkit. The “Submit a resource” link will be
located on the bottom of the toolkit homepage.”
