Marine casualty information is needed for CG investigations of commercial vessel casualties involving death, vessel damage, etc., as mandated by Congress. Chemical testing information is needed to improve CG detection/reduction of drug and alcohol use by mariners. 46 U.S.C. 6301and 46 U.S.C. 6101 are the authorities for this collection.
