This survey collects information from U.S. adults about their awareness, knowledge, and opinions of the Navy, including views on Navy missions, capabilities, and current issues. The Navy uses the results to track changes in public opinion, evaluate outreach and communication efforts, and advise senior leaders on public perceptions of the Navy.
Navy CHINFO has determined to obtain a larger sample size for the quarterly survey that will improve reliability and provide a more robust ability to analyze data by geographical region and other key subgroups of interest. This enhanced analytic capability will help CHINFO assess whether public perceptions vary across communities and population segments and whether outreach and engagement efforts are reaching intended audiences.
