NMFS seeks to revise and renew an existing logbook information and cost-earnings data collection from fishermen who possess commercial or for-hire permits to fish for highly migratory species (HMS). The information collected in logbooks and the cost-earnings form help NMFS identify impacts of proposed regulatory measures on fishermen and the resource, consistent with applicable law such as the Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act and the Regulatory Flexibility Act. Revisions to this PRA initial the addition of a modified trip summary form for the Atlantic Tunas and Swordfish Handgear fishery, removal of HMS Angling permit holders from the data collection, and minor modifications to the number of other permit holders. The latest form for Highly Migratory Species Vessel Logbooks and Cost-Earnings Data Reports expires 2021-01-31 and can be found here.
