The survey of Earned Doctorates (SED) is an annual census survey of all (approximately 57,500) individuals receiving research doctoral degrees from U.S. institutions. The results of the survey are widely used to assess trends in Ph.D. production and plans for employment. This information is vital for educational and labor force planners within the Federal Government and in academia and elsewhere. 6/9/2020 - NCSES is requesting a nonsubstantive change due to COVID-19.
The latest form for Survey of Earned Doctorates expires 2022-04-30 and can be found here.
