Abstract: THE RAILROAD REPORTS ACT REQUIRES RAILROADS TO MAKE MONTHLY REPORTS OF RAIL-RELATED ACCIDENTS AND CASUALTIES. FRA NEEDS THIS INFORMATION TO IDENTIFY HAZARDOUS CONDITIONS ON THE NATION'S RAILROADS AND USES IT FULFILL REGULATORY RESPONSIBILITIES EXPRESSED IN THE RAILROAD SAFETY ACT. RAILROADS ARE AFFECTED BY THIS INFORMATION COLLECTION ACTIVITY.
