These data collections provide BJS with aggregate information about offenders under the supervision of parole and probation agencies across the country. We cover every agency by collecting data from 88 central respondents and 449 local respondents. Because 70% of the 6.5 million offenders under correctional supervision are under parole or probation supervision, it is essential for any reporting system to include this population.
