This program provides government
employment and wage data for state and local governments by
functional categories. The data are used to monitor the government
sector of the economy and to formulate, develop, and review public
policy. Federal agencies, state and local governments and the
private sector use these data. The respondents to this survey are
state and local governments.
The current OMB inventory was
based on annual survey cycles only. The burden now requested is an
average of one sample and one Census year; thereby, increasing the
average burden hours.
