Cutting Redundancy
The burden hours decreased from the previous request of 1,500 hours to 1,200 hours for this request, representing a reduction of 300 hours. This change is an adjustment caused by a decrease in the number of respondents completing the survey. After review of the previous stakeholder survey contact list, FTA noted multiple survey respondents in the same organization. FTA determined that having multiple respondents in the same agency was redundant. As a result, the list was updated and the number of respondents decreased from 1,500 in 2011 to the current total of 1,200 respondents. As a result of the decreased number of respondents, the correlating cost associated with their salaries decreased from $67,500 in 2011 to $54,000 currently. This represents a decrease of $13,500.
