Interior bureaus and offices to conduct customer research through
external surveys such as In-person intercept surveys, telephone
interviews or questionnaires, mail and e-mail surveys, web-based,
and focus groups to improve the services and products DOI provides
to the public.

Based on historical usage of
this generic clearance over the last approval period, DOI used
approximately 18,000 responses totaling 3,500 hours. This renewal
reduces the approval request from 360,000 responses and 54,000
hours to 100,000 responses and 15,000 hours. This will allow us
flexibility in the event of increased submissions during the
current approval period.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that

1320.8(b)(3).
