Automated vital system regulations are necessary to promote the safety of life at sea on USCG certified vessels. The Coast Guard reviews plans, tests, and procedures to determine compliance and evaluate necessary manning of automated vessels. Respondents are owners, operators, shipyards, designers, and manufacturers of certain vessels.
