Abstract: THIS SAMPLE SURVEY OF LOCAL JAILS IS NEEDED TO PROVIDE CURRENT INFORMATION ON INMATE POPULATION. THE SURVEY UPDATES DATA FROM THE 1988 CENSUS OF JAILS. DATA WILL BE USED FOR PROGRAM PLANNING AND POLI MAKING FOR CORRECTIONS.
