Following the screening phase and the
first couple of rounds of data collection NASS would like to submit
a non-substantive change request. NASS would like to merge four of
the questionnaires used by the Census Bureau when they were
conducting the Current Industrial Reports (CIR) into one
questionnaire. This is in response to a request from the
respondents. NASS has also made agreements with many of the
corporate locations to report data for their many locations,
greatly reducing burden and number of contacts needed to be made
each year.

This is an adjustment to the
sample size, frequency and burden from what was originally
requested. The original request was based on historic numbers from
the Census Bureau, who had previously conducted these surveys.
Through the use of NASS' List Frame and working relationships we
have with the farming industry, we have been able to adjust the way
in which these surveys are conducted, resulting in significant
reductions in burden and responses.
