is necessary for the accurate, fair, and thorough consideration of
competing proposals in the review process. Reporting requirements
are necessary to ascertain that grant projects have been completed
and all terms and conditions are met.

Increases in cost burden, both
for respondents and the federal government, are due primarily to:
increased number of applications and grant awards; cost of living
increases over the three-year period; and additional reporting
requirements associated with OMB 2 CFR Part 200.
