The Child and Adult Care Food Program
(CACFP) provides cash reimbursement and commodity assistance, on a
per meal basis, for food service to children in nonresidential
child care centers and family day care homes, and to eligible
adults in nonresidential adult day care centers. The USDA, through
FNS, has established application, monitoring, and reporting
requirements to manage the CACFP effectively. This is a
reinstatement, with change, of this collection, which expired in
February 2020.
This collection is a
reinstatement, with change, of an expired information collection.
This collection expired in February, 2020. Due to statute, FNS is
still legally required to collect the data in this information
collection. Consequently, FNS has been collecting this information
in violation of the Paperwork Reduction Act (PRA) . The current OMB
inventory for this information collection is 0 hours. FNS estimates
that this reinstated collection will add 4,213,211 burden hours and
16,213,093 responses to OMB's information collection inventory due
to a program change resulting from violation of the PRA.

1320.8(b)(3).
