BJS is submitting a nonsubstantive change request to to revise text under Part A, such that data collected from research and development activities can be released in a public-use format for data users to access. Additionally this change requests to expand the law enforcement agency sample for the Cognitive Testing of 2024 Statistical Policy Directive #15 Standards in Establishment Surveys. The response rate for law enforcement agencies from the original sample is inadequate, BJS requests to sample additional agencies to boost the number of completed responses from LE agencies. Request for a 3-year renewal to a generic clearance for the Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS) that will allow it to develop, test, and improve its survey and data collection instruments and methodologies. The procedures utilized to this effect include, but are not limited to, tests of various types of survey and data collection operations, focus groups, cognitive interview activities, pilot testing, field testing, exploratory interviews, experiments with questionnaire design, and usability testing of electronic data collection instruments.
